A family-owned business said it will take steps to strengthen its food safety standards following a recent voluntary recall.
FGS Ingredients said the recall was issued as a ‘precautionary measure’ after the discovery of potential allergen cross-contamination in certain mustard seed batches.
FGS Ingredients has ceased working with suppliers linked to the recent peanut contamination issue. The company said it is implementing robust new protocols, including ‘enhanced supplier audits, stringent traceability measures and an increased focus on education and compliance within its supply chain’.
The actions are designed to ensure the ‘highest standards of safety and transparency for all FGS products’.
Head of Operations at FGS Ingredients, Jatin Patel (pictured above) said: “Food Safety is a top priority for us and we are committed to providing the highest standards for our customers. “Our history as a trusted supplier is built on an unwavering commitment to quality and customer satisfaction,
This incident has only strengthened our resolve to lead the industry in safety and transparency.”
