Bradford based cash and carry grocery retailer SaveCo, which offers exotic spices, world foods, household goods and halal meat to its customers, recently announced its new local charity partner – Age UK Bradford District.
CEO of SaveCo, Shiraz Ahmed said, “As our company’s digital presence has grown, it has become more and more apparent that we are leaving behind one of the most valuable sections of our community due to digital disenfranchisement.
By partnering with Age UK Bradford District, we hope to bridge this gap by raising awareness and providing support to our elderly community, allowing them to stay connected and better enjoy what should be the best years of their life.”
SaveCo is part of a group of companies which have collectively grown with the community they have served over the years. The partnership with Age UK reflects the shared vision of the supermarket with the local community which will help the charity carry out their work.
Age UK describes itself as “the country’s leading charity dedicated to helping everyone make the most of later life” and operates across the UK, catering to the needs of older people.
Age UK Bradford District has set its goal to provide the older population with support packages to help them live a good life along with information, help and support, advice and casework, groups and activities.
CEO at Age Uk Bradford District, Mark Rounding, said, “We are delighted to have connected with SaveCo and are so enthusiastic about this new joint partnership. We share an approach focusing on serving Bradford’s local communities, which is so important in our work with older people.” Through the partnership with SaveCo, Age UK Bradford District aims to reach out to and impact more people across the country and promote its work.
