Better Communities Bradford (BCB) is pleased to announce it has been awarded a three-year, unrestricted grant from the Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales to bolster its work in combating racism, Islamophobia, and related inequities in the Bradford community.
Part of the Foundation’s new £3 million programme to support community-led organisations; this funding will enable BCB to further its mission of creating an inclusive and resilient society.
The grant will contribute to BCB’s ongoing initiatives, including the recent launch of ‘Fighting Against Islamophobia, Together for Hope’ (Project FAITH). Project FAITH is a dedicated programme aimed at addressing Islamophobia through educational workshops, interfaith dialogues, and community support.
This new funding will allow BCB to reach even more individuals and foster greater understanding and unity across Bradford.
Abbas Najib (pictured above), CEO of Better Communities Bradford, expressed his gratitude: “This grant is a vital resource for our community. It empowers us to expand our work, including initiatives like Project FAITH and gives us the support needed to tackle Islamophobia and racism head-on.
We are grateful to the Lloyds Bank Foundation for their commitment to our shared vision of equality and social cohesion.”
In addition to financial backing, the Lloyds Bank Foundation will provide BCB with tailored support to strengthen its organisational capacity, furthering the charity’s reach and impact.
Better Communities Bradford is a local non-profit dedicated to supporting Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities.
