Towhid Choudhury, a resident of Maitland Park Road, Camden, has been jailed for seven years for producing and sharing indecent images of children, as well as planning to sexually abuse a child with others.
Choudhury was caught by the Metropolitan Police in his home with various devices in which he stored pornographic videos and images of minors. He also plotted to abuse a child under the age of five with others online. The police came to know about it after being intimated by the intelligence that he had been uploading such content on the internet.
Officers from Met’s Online Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation team raided the predator’s home and found two phones, laptops, a hard drive, a tablet and a USB stick. Some of these devices had automated encryption on them which would auto-delete all the material if he was caught. However, the police was able to act before that could happen and retrieve all the material as evidence.
Pete Howes, Police Commissioner from the Met’s Online Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation team said, “Choudhury is a dangerous offender who was actively planning to abuse a very young child. We have every reason to believe that – had he not been arrested – he would have gone on to do so. It is right that he is now behind bars where he can’t pose a further risk to children.”
