Former kickboxing world champion Dylan Cheema won the BOXXER Series Lightweight Final after defeating Rylan Charlton on the 17th of April. The match took place in Coventry, and Cheema was declared the champion via a unanimous decision victory against Charlton.
Cheema, who was brought up in Tile Hill, Coventry, had many of his fans and supporters attend the match. However, it was not an easy win for the fighter as Charlton was a strong opponent, especially in the first two rounds. Nevertheless, Cheema was able to increase his chances of winning through his tremendous display of strength and skills with the use of swift counter punching and body shots.
Even though Carlton did engage in a final assault, Cheema still managed to overpower him to finally secure a win, taking home a whopping £40,000 prize money.
In an interview after his victory, Cheema said, “I owe it to every single person who’s turned out tonight because we came out to win. Respect to Rylan, he was really tough.”
