Award-winning presenter Noreen Khan has announced that she will be quitting her afternoon show at the BBC Asian Network, much to the dismay of her listeners.
However, the good news is that she is not leaving the network for good. Instead, she will be switching to the 9-11pm slot every Sunday.
BBC Asian Network in a post on Instagram, announced the popular radio show host’s decision and wrote: “After an incredible 12 years presenting daytime shows on BBC Asian Network, @officialnoreenkhan (Noreen Khan) has decided that from December, she will step down from her slot to pursue other adventures
“Don’t worry though Khandaan, she’s not leaving – she’ll be back in February with a brand new show, every Sunday from 9-11pm!”
Khan joined the BBC Asian Network in 2007, and started presenting the Chart Show, quickly becoming the listeners’ favourite.
She said, “I honestly cannot believe how quickly those years have flown by and it just goes to show when you are enjoying yourself when you are having fun not just the months but the years – you just don’t know where they go.
“It has been an absolute privilege to be sitting in this studio, in this chair and to be part of your life on a daily basis.”
She added that she had multiple projects to handle including her comedy tours and TV commitments which soon made her realise that it was hard to ‘juggle everything’.
