He was presented with Pravasi Bharatiya Honour, a distinguished NRI recognition, during celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of the formation of Chhattisgarh State (Central India previously part of Central Provinces of India).

The Rajyotsav 2025 ceremony honoured 37 distinguished individuals and four institutions from diverse fields including cinema, literature, social development, and innovation, among them acclaimed filmmaker Anurag Basu.

The grand event, attended by national leaders, artists, and innovators, was part of a week-long celebration that earlier featured the participation of the Prime Minister of India.
