Edinburgh University professor receives a disturbing post

Leading Scottish Public Health Expert and Professor of Global Public Health, Devi Sridhar, has come forward to reveal an incident that took place in the summer of last year.
A member of the Scottish government’s Coronavirus Advisory Board mentioned that she received a post containing white powder and a used mask with the words “I am done” written on the mask with black ink.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said that she condemns the act which is part of a backlash and abuse against women in power.
Professor Sridhar, in an interview, said that the incident had deeply affected her. “I have thought often about withdrawing but it feels like, for better or worse, my job now also has a public dimension. Hopefully, it’s helpful to have scientists out there explaining things for most people,” she said.
