African inspired Halal restaurant ‘Afrikana’ has launched its 14th UK site with the first in Glasgow, Scotland. Located in Sauchiehall Street, the brand has another eight sites in the pipeline with the next apparently being in Coventry, according to their website.
The journey for Afrikana began in the village of Aldridge in 2018, where the founders of Afrikana offered home-cooked inspired dishes that included an assortment of burgers, wraps, chickens and specials, with sharing platters originating from Kenya, Botswana, and Ethiopia.
Afrikana said on social media: “The Grand Opening of Afrikana Glasgow in Scotland was a tremendous success. You welcomed us with open arms and empty stomachs, and we hope we were able to satisfy all of your Afrikana desires.”
Afrikana is a fully Halal certified with verification all the meals are whilst no alcohol is served on the premises, with already many locations within the country whilst plans are in the pipeline to develop future sites in Hayes, London and Essex.
