Two traffic wardens were ruthlessly attacked and beaten in broad daylight in Birmingham.
Video footage of one traffic warden being struck in the face whilst the other is punched and beaten by a group of men was filmed at Stratford Road in the Sparkhill area of the city. The street was busy with traffic, and several onlookers watched the incident unfold.

One of the witnesses spoke about the assault: “These guys were just doing their jobs and obviously have nothing to do with what’s going on at the council.
“They were saying they had no power any more around here and several idiots tried to drive them out of the area using the bankruptcy stuff as an excuse.
“It does make you worry what’s going through these people’s heads. They haven’t got a clue and I fear things could escalate.
“It’s like they believe the authorities have no power over them anymore.
“What is attacking traffic wardens going to achieve anyway? It’s just moronic behaviour and it took place in broad daylight in front of families with children.”
People present at the scene claimed that the assault happened because of the attackers claiming that civil enforcement officers do not “have power anymore”.
Birmingham City Council has declared that it is effectively bankrupt last week which has led to criticism of its leadership for the crisis, with the Conservative party attributing it to bureaucratic “incompetence” on the part of the Labour party.
The council allocated approximately £184 million for hosting the 2022 Commonwealth Games while also using taxpayers’ funds for the implementation of inclusive street signs, reports have stated.
This situation has raised concerns that the city’s 1.1 million residents may face a potential 10 per cent increase in council tax, a scenario previously seen when other local authorities found themselves in similar financial predicaments. This has sparked anger among local residents who are directing their frustrations toward the council leaders responsible for the financial turmoil.
A Birmingham City Council spokesperson said: “Nobody should suffer abuse or assault for simply trying to do their job and we will be contacting the company that employs the officers to ensure they are OK and see if any support is needed.”
Three men aged 20, 23 and 31 have been arrested on suspicion of assault and were in police custody as of Friday, 8 September.
Inspector Neil Kirkpatrick, of West Midlands Police, said: “No one should have to be subjected to violence in the course of their work and I’m relieved they did not suffer more serious injuries.
“We’re determined to bring their assailants to justice and I ask that anyone who witnessed the assault or who has information should contact us if they haven’t already done so.”
He also mentioned that the police were looking for other people in connection with the assault.
