Tiktok star Mahek Bukhari, who is facing charges relating to an accident-murder case that took place earlier this year, has been blamed one of the co-accused who claimed that she came up with the plan to kill her mother’s secret lover, reports have stated.
Mohammed Patel, who is one of the defendants in the case, told the court during the trial that he wanted to help the victim but was told not to do so by Bukhari. He further revealed that Bukhari had told one of the crash victims “watch what I do to you” after which a high-speed car chase ensued.
The chase led to a horrific car crash on the A46 near Leicester on 11 February, which led to the death of Oxfordshire residents Saqib Hussain and his friend Mohammed Hashim Ijazuddin.
The seventh person to be arrested after the incident, Patel initially denied being present at the A46. However, he later gave a detailed statement through his counsel mentioning that he did not want to be a part of any of it and had tried to call the emergency services, but was told not to.
He added that all eight accused went to a Tesco store, where the two victims were. They then fled after they saw Bukhari and gang. They then started chasing them, with Patel allegedly unable to get out of the situation.
He also described another accused, Rekan Karwan’s driving to be ‘very erratic’ when the collision took place.
After the accident Patel reportedly attempted to call 999, but Bukhari stopped him from contacting them. “They stopped me, everyone was told to turn their phones off,” he said.
Bukhari is said to have ‘hired’ men to kill Hussain, who had an affair with her mother, Ansreen Bukhari as he was trying to blackmail her with a sex tape.
All the defendant denied committing murder and an alternative count of manslaughter. According to reports, the trial is expected to last eight weeks.
