Suspect on loose after hurling racist abuse at a store employee
Police have appealed the public to give any information they have of a man who made serious racist remarks at an employee at a shop.
A CCTV footage of the incident, which took place at Boots in Accrington showing the perpetrator’s face has been released.
The police are trying to identify the man, who visited the store on Saturday, 20 August. The suspect is said to be walking around the store when a female employee asked if he needed any help.
The man then replied by hurling several hateful and abusive words at her.
A spokesperson for the police said: “Local Hyndburn Neighbourhood policing officers would like help in identifying the male captured on Boots the Chemist CCTV cameras.
“On Saturday, August 20, at approximately 1.25pm, the male walked into Boots the Chemist which is situated within Accrington Town Centre.
“The male walks around the store for a short period of time, before one of the female members of staff asks if she could help him in any way.
