After his exit from Aston Villa, top midfielder Arjan Raikhy has been welcomed into Leicester City with open arms.

The British Punjabi Sikh footballer had to decide which club to join after several expressed interest in having him on board.

Raikhy’s father Rav Raikhy has told Sky Sports News: “We’re all so proud to see Arjan sign for Leicester, who are of course former Premier League champions.

“It’s been a wonderful journey with Aston Villa, and as a family we’re grateful to everyone at the club and the amazing Villa fans for all of the support.

“Now, it’s time for the next chapter. It’s a really exciting move for Arjan and it gives kids the chance to dare to dream. The journey continues.”

Following their relegation from the Premier League on the last day of the season, Leicester City have been actively participating in the transfer market, aiming to make a swift comeback to the top division.

Raikhy wrote on Twitter, sharing his excitement for the future: “New chapter. Delighted to be here at Leicester City. Let’s go!”

He concluded a remarkable campaign by assisting Ben Chrisene’s opening goal in a 2-1 triumph against Liverpool, propelling Villa’s U18s to victory in the FA Youth Cup.

In the subsequent season, the central midfielder experienced a fruitful period, earning the exceptional distinction of aiding Stockport County and Grimsby Town in achieving promotion back to the Football League during two distinct loan spells.

Raikhy joins forces with fellow British South Asian player Hamza Choudhury, who has been associated with the club since the age of 13.
