Tariq Halal Meats is proud to announce that it’s Founder and Chairman, Mr Tariq Sheikh, has been awarded the City of London Corporation Civic Honour Award 2025, a distinguished recognition reserved for individuals who have made exceptional contributions to business, community life, and the UK’s economic landscape.

This longstanding honour acknowledges Mr Sheikh’s decades of leadership within the halal food sector and his commitment to building a trustworthy, responsible, and community-focused organisation. 

Under his guidance, Tariq Halal Meats has evolved from a single store into one of the UK’s most respected halal brands, widely recognised for its reliable sourcing, rigorous standards, and unwavering dedication to customer trust.

The Civic Honour Award is among the City of London Corporation’s most respected acknowledgements, awarded only to those who exemplify sustained integrity, service, and positive impact. This award has previously honoured the likes of Admiral Nelson, Winston Churchill & Florence Nightingale.

For Mr Sheikh, the recognition reflects not only his professional achievements, but also the principles that have shaped Tariq Halal Meats since its inception: reliability, authenticity, transparency, and care for the communities the business serves.

Throughout the company’s growth, Mr Sheikh has been instrumental in championing transparent supply chains, accredited suppliers, and the highest recognised halal standards. 

His work has helped strengthen confidence in halal meat sourcing and has supported improvements across the wider sector both in the UK and internationally.

The honour comes at a pivotal moment for Tariq Halal Meats, as the company embarks on an ambitious phase of expansion recently announcing plans to open 100 new stores over the next five years, creating more than 1,000 jobs and bringing high quality halal products to more communities nationwide.

With over 30 outlets already established in London, Tariq Halal has already launched in Cardiff and this year saw them expand into Manchester and Glasgow.
