Mind Wellbeing Centre and Roshni restart in-person counselling
Sheffield’s Mind Wellbeing Centre has finally opened its doors to the public after two years. The Centre had shut down when the pandemic started in 2020 with the counsellors working from the office but people who were being treated were not allowed inside.
The Centre, which works with a charity named Roshni, is known for its work in helping women of South Asian backgrounds. The reopening is great news for those who did not find online sessions helpful and corresponds with the Mental Health Awareness week.
Counsellor Co-ordinator for Roshni, Shareen Rehman, affirmed that online sessions were not easy and added, “We’ve had to condense the sessions to really get engagement and get the work done. Not having colleagues to bounce off each other and offload too; sitting with that has been very tough.” She will be restarting in-person counselling sessions along with Mind Wellbeing Centre enabling better interaction with their clients after a long wait.
