An Indian restaurant in North West London was partially destroyed in a huge fire that needed the assistance of around 70 firefighters from the London Fire Brigade in the early morning hours of 25 May.
The firefighters arrived at the Spice Klub on Peel Road, Harrow at around 6am where they found that part of the roof was on fire. It took the firefighters three hours to bring the fire under control and by that time there was further damage to the building as the entire roof and the first floor of the restaurant were completely destroyed.
It has been reported that around 19 people who were in the building when the fire started, were able to leave safely without any injuries. The flames could be seen on the London skyline from miles away and the Harrow Council had to announce road closures saying, “Byron Road and Peel Road are closed due to a restaurant fire. Road closures are in place as firefighters deal with an incident on Peel Road – please avoid the area if possible and keep windows shut. We are assisting the London Fire Brigade to make the site safe.”
