Local bikers embark on 4500mile Motorbike ride from England to Saudi to support World Care Foundation’s Palestine Appeal
Posted On July , 2024

The three motorbike enthusiasts, Muhammad, Nasir & Mak, are gearing up for a monumental ride from Dewsbury in West Yorkshire to Makkah in Saudi Arabia, where they will perform the minor pilgrimage called Umrah. This ambitious endeavour is set to be the most challenging feat any of them have undertaken to date.
The trip, beginning in mid-July, will take them through 13 countries, including Italy, Turkey, the Balkans, and many more. Along with their motorbikes and camping kit, which includes a tent, the trio will navigate the diverse landscapes of Europe and eventually Turkey and then the hot and arid Middle East, camping wherever possible or seeking respite in the odd hotel.
One significant factor adding to the ride’s complexity is the varied weather conditions the three will face. Temperatures range from a low 10-12 degrees Celsius during the night to a challenging 45-50+ degrees Celsius during the day. The unpredictable weather adds more difficulty to this already demanding expedition.
Nasir expressed his excitement and determination, stating, “We have been talking about this for a while and eventually mustered up the courage to go over a cup of coffee. Things quickly fell into place, and here we are about to embark on a journey that will undoubtedly push us to our limits. We are ready for the journey, anticipating highs and lows and moments of both smiles and tears.”
The funds raised by this challenge will contribute to the World Care Foundation’s Palestine projects. The charity is working hard to provide emergency relief to those displaced and impacted by the war in Gaza.
Mak described their motivation to fundraise for Palestine by stating, “We have all seen the tragic and heartbreaking images coming out of Gaza and often feel helpless in making a difference. The three of us decided that whilst completing this once-in-a-lifetime spiritual journey, we should also try and make a difference in the lives of Palestinians who are being repeatedly displaced, maimed and killed by this brutal war.”
