Issa brothers set plans in motion to create homes in Bradford
British Indian billionaire brothers and businessmen, Zuber and Mohsin Issa have taken up a new project which includes development of 18 homes in Bradford.
This report comes as the Blackburn-born brothers, who co-founded Euro Garages (EG) Group and own supermarket chain Asda, continue the expansion of the EG Group and plan to create about 22,700 jobs in the UK in the next five years.
Euro Garages Ltd. has submitted an application to the Bradford Council asking for permission to create an ‘outline planning permission to build the houses on land off Kaycell Street in Bierley, off the major Rooley Lane route’.
According to the application: “The proposed usage of the site will be for 18 new houses with a total of 38 car parking spaces.”
“A new access road is proposed to be extended from the existing Kaycell Street to create the small inclusive estate.”
“Units are proposed to have rooms in the roof space so will be a total of two-and-a half storeys.”
“The layout has been influenced by the constraints of the site to maximise the potential of the site.”
Additionally, the materials for the exteriors will be “in keeping with the locale”.
The application further describes the plan: “The proposed development would be constructed on land that has been identified within the Bradford District Local Plan as an ideal location for residential development.”
“The proposed layout is reflective of the surrounding locale and is appropriately proportional to the size of the site. The proposal will also provide housing that is needed throughout Bradford.”
Along with the application, a planning statement was also attached which explains its relevance as the Council is “unable to demonstrate a robust five-year supply of housing and as such the presumption in favour of sustainable development is engaged.”
On their continuous success and expansion, the Issa brothers said, “As EG continues to go from strength to strength, we will be creating a large number of new jobs over the coming years, particularly in our successful foodservice business, which remains a significant growth opportunity globally.”
“We are proud to be a business founded in Britain that invests in job creation worldwide, while focusing heavily on the training and development of colleagues,” they added.
