Indian Classical Music duo Lakshay and Aayush Mohan set to perform in London

The Mohan brothers – Lakshay and Aayush, who have gained mastery over the Sitar and Sarod and carrying the legacy of Indian classical music across the world are set to mesmerise audiences with their melodious tunes on October 16.

The brothers, who are the first Indians to perform at Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, have also performed at several prestigious events all over the globe. Their latest performance was at Ravi Shankar Centenary in March this year at Royal Festival Hall.

Lakshay and Aayush do not come from a family of musicians but developed a keen interest in classical music at a very young age through their father, who was an amateur sitarist when they were growing up.

The London event will be attended by many Indian classical music fanatics at The Bhavan, which is also known as the Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan. The venue was established in the early 1970s in London but was later moved to West Kensington.

The Bhavan quickly became the hotspot for a wide variety of Indian cultural activities. The main purpose behind the organisation is to teach and promote Indian classical arts, yoga, languages, and culture in the UK.

The dynamic duo derived inspiration from maestros like Pandit Ravi Shankar, Ustad Ali Akbar Khan and Pandit Nikhil Banerjee, leading them to create original music of their own.

They have also collaborated with Grammy award winning musicians including Barry Phillips and Anoushka Shankar.
