Free Exhibition dedicated to Bollywood Legend Dev Anand at this year’s India Week Event

London UK, EPG announce the India Week 2024 (29th June – July 6th.) the weeklong program of events that encompass crucial discussions on topics such as politics, trade, business, sustainability, inclusion, and innovation.
This year’s India Week will feature a special exhibition dedicated to the legendary Bollywood actor Dev Anand (pictured above) and his filmmaker brother Vijay Anand. Curated by Aman Dhillon of ReelN Ltd., the exhibition titled “The Anand Brothers, A Journey Through Film” will take place on July 5th and 6th and is FREE to see
On July 6th, the days programme will include the inaugural Film Conclave event on which will bring together film makers from both countries to discuss opportunities in movie co-production in the UK and India, featuring film stars travelling from Hindi and regional film industries.
Dev Anand, a cornerstone of Indian cinema, is renowned for his charismatic screen presence and his contributions to the film industry. Born in 1923, Dev Anand’s career spanned over six decades, during which he appeared in more than 110 films.
Known for classics such as Guide and Jewel Thief, his legacy is celebrated not just for his acting prowess but also for his work as a director and producer. His brother, Vijay Anand, also made significant contributions to Indian cinema as a director, with films like Teesri Manzil and Johny Mera Naam earning critical acclaim.
Adding to the excitement, future star Vaibhav Anand, Dev Anand’s nephew and Vijay Anand’s son, will be present at the exhibition. Vaibhav is in the process of relocating to the UK, bringing with him the rich legacy of the Anand family.
The exhibition will offer fans a unique glimpse into the lives and careers of these iconic figures through photographs, personal artifacts, and exclusive film footage. Vaibhav Anand’s presence will provide a personal connection to the legendary actors and offer insights into their enduring impact on cinema.
