Imran Ahmad Khan, former Conservative MP in Wakefield, has been jailed for 18 months after being found guilty of sexually abusing a young teenage boy in 2018.
Khan, who says that he is innocent, was accused of groping by the victim, now 29 years old, in 2019 days after winning his seat as an MP in Wakefield. The court heard that Khan had forced the underage boy to drink gin and tonic before dragging him to the bed upstairs in a house in Staffordshire.
Khan was recently removed from his role in the Parliament after a jury found him guilty of sexual assault. Mr Justice Baker, who said that the former MP faced “a day of reckoning” also recalled that he had shown “no remorse” after the sentencing. He added, “The only regret you feel is towards yourself for having found yourself in the predicament you face as a result of your actions some 14 years ago.”
While on his way to prison, Khan was seen showing no regret and carrying a bag from a luxury men’s grooming shop.
