Eid cheer for young patients as local charity delivers surprise gift boxes

Children spending Eid in hospital will receive a heartwarming surprise this week, thanks to a special delivery of Eid gift boxes from local charity My Family Group.
The charity has teamed up with Bradford Hospitals Charity to bring a little joy to young patients at Bradford Royal Infirmary, ensuring they don’t miss out on the celebrations while receiving treatment.
Packed with toys, games, and thoughtful activities, the boxes are designed to lift spirits and help children feel part of the festivities, even from a hospital bed.
Laura Riach, Charity Director at Bradford Hospitals Charity, said hospital stays can be particularly tough for children during special occasions.
She said: “Eid is a time for family and celebration, so being in hospital can feel especially difficult. Thanks to this wonderful donation from My Family Group, we can bring some festive cheer to our young patients and their families.”
Aliyah Hussain, from My Family Group, said the initiative was about spreading kindness and community spirit.
She said: “Eid is all about togetherness and giving. We hope these gifts bring smiles to the children’s faces and remind them that they are not alone.”
The gift boxes will be handed out by hospital staff over the Eid celebrations, bringing a touch of joy to children who need it most.
