On Saturday, 11 November from 3-8pm, Greenwich Peninsula will be hosting a packed schedule of colourful and interactive events to celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Light.

Explore a special body of photographic work by Nepalese-British photographer, Nina Manandhar as she presents a series of portraits of young Bharatanatyam dancers, photographed in Thamead, South London. Originally commissioned by NOW Gallery as part of Human Stories: Intimate Spaces 2018, Nina Manandhar’s photographs and curated projects explore contemporary global youth identity and the meaning of style. Driven by an enduring interest in people, underpinning her work is a will to champion authenticity in commercial and arts-based commissions alike.

Join artist Pragya Kumar in creating beautiful paper lanterns for a special Diwali procession. Participants can make their own eco-friendly lantern material inspired by artist Murugiah’s artwork Rangoli Mirrored Cosmos using natural materials such as willow and tissue. Participants will then be able to join the twinkling parade to celebrate the festival of light, before taking their lantern home with them.

A fun and interactive dance class for those looking to explore and enjoy the sounds and moves of Bollywood. Hosted by Bollywood Dance Choreographer Ria Wadhwa, the sessions are for all abilities and include learning iconic moves to classic Bollywood movie soundtracks.
