She said, “It is fantastic to win an award as it means someone thinks you are doing something right. This event was packed with like-minded entrepreneurs who are making a difference and it’s inspiring to be in such good company.
“It’s an honour to have won three highly regarded awards in 2022. The main aim for us as a business is to keep making a positive difference for our students and to show the difference that a humble ancient tool such as the Abacus can make on children’s lives.”
The company’s most popular teaching programme is Supermaths which offers a mix of weekly teacher-led Abacus Maths classes and online tutorials. The Abacus method teaches students how to calculate complex sums first with a physical Abacus board, then through visualisation. The academy also offers English, Coding, and Cyber Security courses.
The concept behind Dr Mantri’s business emerged in 2015 when she taught her son, Dhruv, who was struggling with basic arithmetic, how to use the Abacus. He made such rapid progress that he now studying Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at Glasgow Caledonian University.
Spotting a gap in the market, the software engineer-turned entrepreneur started the business which has grown organically and has taught thousands of students globally.
She made a breakthrough when she developed the world’s first Abacus learning App in 2018. Her innovation helped thousands of students continue their Abacus Maths learning journey during the Covid times.
To help and share her expertise with aspiring entrepreneurs and education community in the UK, she has recently launched a franchise opportunity for the UK following the establishment of successful global franchise operations in territories including Dubai and Sri Lanka.
Dr Mantri was previously honoured as “Best Entrepreneur” at the Inspiring Indian Women (IIW) She Inspires 2022 awards last May, and also recognised for her positive impact as a business leader by the 100 Successful Women in Business Network (100SWB) in August 2022.
