Two of cricket’s greatest fast bowlers, Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram, are heading to Manchester to front a special fundraising gala in aid of global humanitarian charity Human Appeal.
The event is part of the wider Sultans of Swing tour, which will see the legendary Pakistani internationals support a series of fundraising evenings for Human Appeal this September 2026.
Fans in Manchester can see the pair at Vermilion on Saturday, 19 September 2026.
Black-tie guests will enjoy a gourmet dinner, a live Q&A with the duo, and a charity auction of signed memorabilia – a rare chance to meet two sporting icons in an exclusive VIP meet-and-greet.
Razwan Faraz, Associate Director of Fundraising at Human Appeal UK, said: “We are honoured to welcome two cricketing heroes who are not only supporting this fundraising drive, but also amplifying our core message at Human Appeal – that everyone, wherever they live, deserves access to food, clean water, shelter, healthcare and education.”
“The funds raised will strengthen our mission, and it will be inspiring to share a room with like-minded people who are passionate about the values of our charity – and of course, about cricket.”
Each evening will also feature a presentation by Human Appeal showcasing its latest Thriving with Dignity impact report, highlighting recent projects and the communities they support worldwide.
Branded the Sultans of Swing tour, the gala events aim to bring together communities in Birmingham, Manchester and London over three consecutive nights, with the Manchester gala one of three special fundraising dinners.
Tickets are on sale now, with prices starting from £50.
