TB Promotions set to host Unleashed in Sheffield this Weekend

Truly Blessed Promotions will host Unleashed, an unmissable night of boxing, held at the Canon Medical Arena in Sheffield on August 17th.
Ali Mehmood, the owner of TB Promotions, spoke about how his journey began.
He said: “I was always into sports, mainly football and cricket, but I also had a passion for boxing. So, I dreamed of creating something that would bring the whole community together.
“We did a local boxing show in my hometown around five years ago, bringing the community together. The show’s primary purpose was to get the youngsters off the streets and into gyms.”
Mehmood believes that boxing teaches young people discipline and dedication, which coincides with his religious beliefs.
He added: “To be a practising Muslim, you need that discipline in your life. You need that dedication; it coincides with our religion.”
Since the first show five years ago, TB Promotions has held shows all over England, in cities such as Maidenhead, Birmingham, Bradford, Leeds, Bolton, Oldham and Manchester.
As well as “helping youngsters get off the street, out of the drink, the drugs, etc.” TB Promotions also donates 100% of its profits to charities worldwide. Profits from the event this Saturday will go to Human Appeal’s Gaza Emergency Relief Fund.
Mehmood said: “They’ve been in Gaza since 1982, so they’re a well-established, well-trusted charity. As soon as the money is raised, it will go out there, making a big difference for the brothers and sisters suffering in Palestine.”
One of TB Promotion’s most significant fundraising efforts was to provide villages in Pakistan with clean drinking water.
The London-based owner added: “We provided 15 villages around 20,000 people with clean drinking water. Before, they had to pull it out of a dirty well for years and decades.
“It’s not all about boxing; It’s about changing lives locally and helping our brothers and sisters worldwide.”
Canon Medical Arena has a capacity of 3,000, and Mehmood is confident that “it’s going to be a sold-out arena.”
The event on Saturday will also be streamed on Triller TV, a premium streaming service for Live Sports, after massive success from streaming the last event in Leeds earlier this year.
Mehmood said: “Triller TV approached us because they also did our last Leeds show. So, they’ve seen the platform grow, and the CEO approached us, saying we want your promotion on our platform.
“I’ve had shows on Sky TV before as well.”
When asked what is next for the organisation and himself, Mehmood said, “All roads lead to August 17th.”
