Women’s group raises £2,000 for Yorkshire-based international humanitarian charity

The Roshni Women’s Group (TRWG) has raised nearly £2,000 for the Human Relief Foundation’s Palestine Emergency Appeal through recent learning workshops and children’s activities at its education centre.
Human Relief Foundation (HRF) is a Bradford-based humanitarian aid charity that works to provide food, water, security, and refugee care to some of the world’s most dangerous and impoverished areas. TRGW’s money will help provide aid supplies to communities in Gaza.
HRF’s commitment to those in need is unwavering. Since the conflict began, they have been working with partners in Jordan, providing vital food aid to those whose lives have been drastically changed. This ongoing support is a beacon of hope for the affected communities.
Through donations from groups such as TRWG and individuals, the charity has provided three non-perishable food supply convoys and, when access has been granted, set up a mobile kitchen in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip. The organisation’s next aid delivery is expected to leave Jordan next month.
Mohammed Talhah, Fundraiser for HRF, said: “On behalf of HRF, I’d like to thank Roshni Women’s Group for the generosity they have shown, collaborating with us and providing the opportunity to raise funds, which has allowed us to provide vital, essential aid, for those caught up in this humanitarian crisis.
“It’s fantastic to work with local organisations that put community service at the forefront of their work.”
Tahera Kacholia, chair of TRWG, said: “Whilst we have worked and continue to work with various charities, we invited Human Relief Foundation to fundraise with us due to their reputable standing and its ongoing hard work and dedication in raising awareness and funds for the charity’s Palestine Emergency Appeal.”
