Mass brawl suddenly erupts at a seemingly peaceful wedding reception in Bolton

Chaos ensued at a wedding reception in Bolton after a fight was started by a group of unknown men.

The incident occurred at Regent Hall in Prescott Street on the evening of August 24. A few men approached a guest after which the situation quickly escalated.

In videos shared online and on WhatsApp, the wedding guests can be seen peacefully sitting at their tables, indulging in some food. A white cloth partition was placed to separate the men and the women. 

Guests were busy enjoying their food and were being served by waiters with music playing in the background. 

However, moments later, a few men approach one of the tables. One of the men from the group flicks a guest’s hat off and it looks like they exchange a few words. Then he proceeds to slap the seated guest.

Another man gets up to defend him but gets punched and knocked to the floor instead. Almost immediately a mass brawl erupts with many trying to fight the men and chairs being thrown around for defense. 

One man is thrown into the partition and lands in the women’s side of the reception area, while another man uses his walking stick to hit others. 

Other guests look at the incident unfolding in front of their eyes in horror. Many women quickly notice the disturbance and get up from their seats seemingly trying to make sense of what happened. 

Amidst the chaos, piercing screams can be heard as individuals desperately attempt to intervene and stop the altercation.

The man who first ignited the fight is seen at the center of the female area engaging in a brawl with other guests.

The recorded footage vividly captures a moment when a guest seizes a partition-supporting pole, wielding it as an improvised weapon against one of the aggressors. The intervention is swiftly intercepted by a vigilant staff member who disarms the individual, preventing further escalation.
